Birch Tree Gallery focuses on art-works that have roots in nature – whether in materials, inspiration or thematic elements. Since its opening in 2017, the gallery had over 60 exhibitions of contemporary paintings, original printings and fine crafts (ceramics, glass, wood, textile and mixed media).
The gallery has closed its premises on Dundas street, Edinburgh in February, 2025.
Twenty-four artists who have exhibited with the gallery present their visual response to a single poem by Lithuanian émigré poet Antanas Škema. Albeit very short, the poem is full of metaphors about the ‚whitness of snow‘ and deeper meaning of life.
